Description
Sillahertane Estate is nestled in the untouched hills of Irelands south west; County Kerry. Situated amidst old native woodlands, Sitka spruce forests & unlimited nature walking terrain, the recently renovated 1870's two storey home offers an abundance of comforts as well as a 'country atmosphere'.

Perhaps the best way to see what Sillahertane can offer you is to read the Testimonials.

Sillahertane House, once occuppied by the Royal Irish Constabulary and now available
to rentInside, enjoy the large open fire, the cosy range oven, an underfloor heating system beneath wooden floors, thick traditional walls & picturesque views. Relax in the sauna or on one the big sofas with a choice of books. You can even retreat into the study.

Explore the rhododendron jungle & you will probably stumble upon a deer or go way back in time & marvel at the enormous ruin, previously the estate house, which tells its own story about Ireland in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Experience the surrounding 1,500 acre green paradise where the deer & squirrel run as wild as the rapids, discover waterfalls, swim in the picture perfect dam, watch the sheep graze & listen or observe an array of rare & native birds. Two mountain bikes are available to take you on either a casual road ride or an adventurous mountainous track. A large fenced-off back garden is a safe haven for children or otherwise any pets. The house is off the public road with only glimpses seen through the forest. We also offer two large kennels for those with dogs.

The kitchen combines excellent appliances with a comfortable warmth. The kitchen table (made entirely of Yew wood) along with the rest of the furnishings are all natural timber, much of which is Irish grown. Professional grill, large range and microwave give you plenty of options for cooking.

Deer stalking, woodcock shooting with dogs and salmon fishing are available to our guest by arrangement. We also intend to stock the dam with trout, which will make bringing home the dinner that bit easier.
